About Me
I am a gardener in central Pennsylvania. I grow
vegetables, herbs, tree fruits and small fruits. All of which end up in
the kitchen as I also enjoy gourmet cooking. I grow few ornamentals or
flowers that do not serve some other purpose. I enjoy DIY projects and
carpentry and have designed and built the raised beds in the garden and
the outbuildings around the house.
As a freelance graphic designer, my style is much like
my personality: clear, clean and direct. Throughout this site and on the "Wears
for Bears" page, you can find t-shirts that I've designed for
Bears and Leathermen. The "Desktop
Wallpaper" link will take you to some of the more mainstream pieces
that I've completed. I am also very comfortable with various versions of
Windows and tend to end up being tech support for my friends. I also can
use a Mac. All that means that, yep, I'm a geek.
I'm an adrenalin junkie. I love thrill rides, especially
cutting edge roller coasters, horror films and just about anything else
that gets my heart pumping. One of these days I'll push my limits to try
skydiving.
My taste in music is typically hard rock, though I also
like jazz, rhythm and blues and most styles of music other than
hip-hop/rap or "cry in your beer" country. I would also like to develop
more of an ear for older blues artists, though on iTunes I seem to keep
downloading 80's pop instead. Go figure...
I have no real set type of film or TV that I like.
It's probably best though that you don't suggest I watch some musical or
artsy period piece starring Emma Thompson or Anthony Hopkins. I'd be
infinitely more happy laying back with a Kevin Smith film. While I love
to watch Family Guy, South Park and Scrubs I tend to stick with
the programming on the History, Discovery, and National Geographic channels as
well as LOGO. Though for some reason the Food Network is my
default station. (Is it for the recipes or to watch Paula Deen's sons?
Hmmm. . . . )
I am very active in the local Bear community, firmly
believing that instead of sitting around bitching about there being
nothing to do I can devote that time to creating something to do. Giving
back to the community is something that I strongly believe in and is part
of my Old Guard ideals as a Leatherman.
I have been partnered for 15 years. Together we
share our house on nine acres of land with our dog.
5' 7", 140 lbs. And yes, it's big enough to be allowed on the adult rides
at the amusement park, if you must know. |
